Memory Lane
I was searching the computer for Lord Drachenheim, Dubhain mac Dhara O Raghailligh's old background for 7th Sea and I ran across the old Khemar archives... And realized just how much I miss a good old-fashion creative writing project. I'm currently in four RPG groups- two of them 7th Sea and thus actual Role-play and not just hack-n-slash- but table-top just doesn't have the same depth as the written word. The old Khemar game had it's faults- and I was working too hard at Target to ever have possibly kept up with the posting volume of the top five posters there; but it was a great deal of fun and I would love to do something like it again (as I seriously doubt we would ever be able to start Khemar itself again).

The biggest problem is the world-view clash. 7th Sea is a swashbuckling adventure set in a world much like our own only each nation is at it's most unstable point in our history at the same point in theirs (The "french" are about to have their revolution, yet "spain" is in the grip of the Inquisition and "russia" is under their "Ivan the terrible" equivalent.) Khemar very similar to that only roughly 200 years later in a "steampunk" style setting. Star Trek is a different style of story.
If we did do it, I'd prefer a story without some of the really outrageous stuff the original "Sabrina" could do. The Steph version of the character doesn't jump the shark as bad as the original.
There is no reason to not do a storyline that pushes the Admiral harder than he's dealt with before if you are personally comfortable with it. I've done some pretty nasty stuff with some of my characters (Dubhain most recently, but Ashton from Khemar had a large dose of "angst and cookies" to quote that group's motto), so this would be all about your comfort level as a writer.... If you want to do it, the old Yahoo group is still there, reply in Writer's Comments there and we can work out the details.
