ash_blackwellWell, I've got an update on the whole Checkers dead battery mess. The corporation sent me a letter saying they'll cut me a check for $100 if I promise not to sue.
This one took some thought. It's not even half of what I lost, but I did get the battery out of the Van before it did any real damage to the alternator or starter. The amount they owe me isn't enough to really be worth the court costs if I wanted to fight them on it. Finally I held my nose and signed their little waver. The battery is the only part from them that /had/ been in the Van, so I at least don't have to deal with them again, thankfully; nor worry that something in the wording prevented me from getting redress on a different problem.
